I’m a little slow to the party, but I get there eventually. Maybe it’s because I’m into keeping things simple.

It’s kinda funny… I ran across an app today that works with Evernote, it’s called EverClip. So far, it seems like a version of Pinterest that I can curate in Evernote. Win!
So, I’m a little slow on the uptake.
What’s funny about that? Yeah, they won the Evernote DevCup in 2012. Yes, a YEAR ago. You’d think that as the Evernote Organization Ambassador, I would have known this. I should have paid attention. Somehow it didn’t make my radar, and not because I don’t care.
It’s all about the filter.
As an entrepreneur for 7 years now, I like to keep things simple. There’s so much distraction, so much noise, so many things to know, read, and pay attention to. I choose to keep a fierce simplicity filter on my life.
I do stay up to date on the important things.
I use a couple apps to keep me updated on news, and I listen to the radio (NPR) in the morning. My brain is small, kids, and there is only so much room in there. And I need downtime.
I keep most other things simple too.
I like cardigans, and plain t-shirts. I like flip flops, Chuck Taylors and Ann Taylor suits. I like classic food, low maintenance friends, and picket fences. Lattes without four syrups are my thing. They are simple and uncomplicated. I get them, and my brain doesn’t hurt.
Organization = Simplicity.
In life and business, I must keep things simple to keep my own sanity. Otherwise I’ll fall off that very short ledge into the deep end. I’m always getting rid of things, in my ongoing quest to keep things simple (note I didn’t say “perfect”.) Organization is sooooo much easier when you have less stuff. WAY less stuff. It allows me to focus on what’s important. And honey, that’s what it’s all about.
So, if I seem a little out of touch, or my wardrobe isn’t off the runway, I hope you’ll forgive me. I’ve got shtuff to do, things to create, life to live, laughter to enjoy, and very little brain power to plug into.
Do you keep things simple? What works for you?
Not a Fan (by Ejaazi on Wed, 23 Oct 2013 00:46:00)I really like Evernote and use it very often. But I am not a fan of this update. They moved too many things around trying to make it look nice for iOS 7. It’s just not as intuitive as it once was. Also, the app looks like the Green Latern’s Lamp! It’s a little overkill. Stop making changes, get rid of all of that neon green, and make the UI simple yet intuitive as it once was.
